Complex buying requirements need a platform assessment before an upgrade recommendation. We plan Shopify Plus development and B2B commerce around buyer journeys, commercial rules and connected operations, distinguishing what the current plan supports from capabilities that justify a different setup.
We translate wholesale, organizational and international requirements into a capability assessment. The review considers current-plan options, apps, implementation effort and operating costs before recommending an upgrade. A complex brief does not automatically make Plus the correct starting point.
B2B buyer and company journeys
We plan company and location setup, buyer access, catalog visibility and the journey from sign-in to order review. Native Shopify B2B requires customer accounts rather than legacy accounts. Blended retail/wholesale or a dedicated B2B store is evaluated against the merchant’s actual operating model.
Catalogs, commercial rules and Markets
Pricing, quantity rules, payment terms and international experiences are mapped to the store’s supported setup. Direct catalog assignment to companies or locations and deposit requirements are Plus-specific; basic wholesale needs do not imply those requirements. Markets-based theme customization is available from Advanced, so it should not be described as exclusive to Plus.
Connected operations and release planning
We define how company records, product data and orders relate to ERP, CRM and fulfillment systems. Permissions, test buyers, exception handling and acceptance checks are part of the plan. Development is scoped to documented platform capabilities, with integration ownership and ongoing maintenance made explicit.
02 / BUSINESS BENEFITS
Choose capabilities for a defined requirement.
Separate an upgrade case from a wish list
A requirement-to-capability map makes costs and dependencies visible. The team can compare a change to the current setup with a Plus implementation instead of purchasing a plan solely because the project is called B2B.
Align buyer experience with the operation
Pricing agreements and buyer permissions must be understood by the systems and people handling the order. Planning those relationships together reduces ambiguity about where a rule lives and who maintains it.
Plan availability and compatibility are checked against Shopify’s current documentation during discovery and again before implementation. Third-party app support and payment or regional requirements can constrain the solution. This service does not imply official Shopify Plus Partner status, certification or a special platform endorsement.
03 / OUR PROCESS
Validate the capability before committing the build.
01
Map the commercial model
Review buyer groups, company locations, pricing agreements, payment needs and international operations. Identify the systems and people responsible for approving those rules.
02
Assess platform fit
Compare supported current-plan, app and Plus options against the requirements. Record limitations, access needs, upgrade dependencies and the assumptions that need a technical investigation.
03
Build and test representative journeys
Implement the agreed scope in a suitable environment. Test buyer permissions, catalogs, commercial rules and integration exceptions with representative company and order scenarios.
04
Release and hand over
Coordinate configuration, account setup and rollout responsibilities. Document the rules, operational checks and support boundaries, then agree how later platform or business changes will be reviewed.
04 / FAQ
Questions that shape the scope.
Is Shopify Plus required for every B2B store?+
No. Shopify currently offers native B2B on Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus. Companies and net payment terms are not exclusive to Plus. We assess the particular catalog, payment, customization and operational requirements before recommending a plan.
Which requirements can point toward Plus?+
Direct company or location catalog assignment, expanded catalog capacity and advanced payment requirements can be relevant. We confirm the precise feature and its availability rather than assuming that any customer-specific workflow requires the same plan.
Can we combine retail and wholesale in one store?+
Shopify supports blended and dedicated B2B approaches, subject to feature and app compatibility. We evaluate buyer access, shared content, pricing expectations and operational ownership before recommending the store structure.
Does international selling require Plus?+
Not by itself. Regional Markets are available beyond Plus, while customization capabilities vary by plan. We review the required currencies, languages, payment setup and market-specific experiences rather than bundling every international requirement into a Plus recommendation.
Can you connect our B2B store to existing business systems?+
We can assess ERP, CRM and fulfillment connections as part of the project. Feasibility depends on the APIs, permissions, data mapping and ownership on both sides. Integration work and support coverage are defined separately from the Shopify subscription.
Share the buyer groups, pricing agreements, payment needs and connected systems your store must support. Include your current Shopify plan and the requirement prompting an upgrade discussion.
