RUTHH / SERVICES

Shopify SEO &
technical audits.

A useful SEO audit explains what search engines can discover, which pages should be indexed and what your team can change. We investigate Shopify stores at template and URL level, then turn the evidence into a prioritized technical and content plan.

DISCUSS YOUR PROJECT
01 / WHAT WE DELIVER

From crawl evidence to actionable fixes.

Crawling, indexing and URL behavior

We compare a crawl, sitemap coverage and available Search Console evidence to understand important exclusions, duplicate paths and redirect chains. Product variants, collection-linked URLs, filters and pagination are reviewed in the context of the actual store rather than treated as automatic errors.

Architecture and content structure

We review how collections, products and supporting pages connect, including navigation, internal links, headings, titles and descriptions. Recommendations identify where search intent or useful product information is unclear and where competing pages may need a clearer role.

Structured data and theme diagnostics

We inspect rendered structured data for eligibility, conflicting app output and consistency with visible content. Theme markup, JavaScript dependencies and representative performance issues are assessed alongside Shopify’s hosted URL, sitemap and robots constraints. Not every platform behavior is editable or needs changing.

Prioritized remediation and verification

The audit records affected templates or URL examples, evidence, business relevance, suggested ownership and a practical validation method. We separate urgent access or indexing problems from opportunities that depend on content, theme work or further investigation. Implementation can be scoped after the findings are reviewed.

02 / BUSINESS BENEFITS

Spend effort on the issues that matter.

Separate platform conventions from real problems

Shopify can expose multiple paths to related content. Examining canonical signals, linking and index evidence together helps avoid broad changes based on a crawler warning alone.

Give content and engineering a shared backlog

Specific examples and acceptance checks make findings easier to assign. Your team can see which changes need an editor, a theme developer or a business decision before scheduling work.

We work from available access and evidence, not promises of rankings. Search Console history, analytics coverage and the store’s release history affect what can be established. Search engines decide indexing and rich-result display; valid markup or a completed audit does not guarantee either.

03 / OUR PROCESS

Investigate, prioritize, then verify.

01

Define the search problem

Agree the markets, collections and product groups that matter commercially. Review any traffic changes, migrations, theme releases and the available search data.

02

Inspect representative paths

Crawl the store and examine selected URLs and templates. Compare rendered output, index signals and platform settings, recording evidence and unresolved questions.

03

Build the remediation plan

Group findings by cause, expected significance, effort and dependencies. Review feasible changes with the people responsible for content, theme code and store settings.

04

Validate the agreed changes

For implementation in scope, recheck affected URLs and templates after release. Agree which search indicators to monitor and how to investigate changes over time.

04 / FAQ

Questions that shape the scope.

What access do you need for a Shopify SEO audit?

A public crawl can establish some findings, but read access to Search Console and relevant analytics provides stronger context. Theme, app or store-setting access may be needed for specific diagnostics and is agreed separately.

Can you change Shopify’s URL structure and robots behavior?

Some URL patterns and generated resources are controlled by Shopify. We check the supported controls for the store before proposing changes. Canonical tags, internal links and supported robots adjustments should be considered together rather than used as blanket fixes.

Does the audit include writing all of our content?

The audit identifies structural and page-level content needs, with representative recommendations. Writing product descriptions, collection copy or articles is a separate scope so the editorial workload and approval process are explicit.

Will structured data guarantee rich results?

No. We can review supported markup, remove conflicts where appropriate and check consistency with the page, but search engines determine eligibility and presentation. Markup should describe real visible content, not invented ratings or offers.

Can you implement the findings?

Implementation can be agreed after the audit. We identify which changes belong in the theme, content, apps or settings, and define validation checks before development. Search visibility and revenue outcomes are not guaranteed.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Understand your
search foundations.

Share your store URL, target markets and the search issue you want to investigate. If traffic changed, include the approximate date and any releases or platform changes around that time.
