Numbered Instructions: Server Pricing & Evaluation Order
Section titled “Numbered Instructions: Server Pricing & Evaluation Order”When a buyer interacts with the COD form and submits an order, the server evaluates pricing in a strict, deterministic sequence inside app-proxy-cart-quote.server.ts and the order admission gate:
- Base Merchandise Resolution: The server resolves the authoritative price of every base product variant from Shopify in integer minor units of your shop currency.
- Quantity Offer / Bundle Tier Evaluation: Applicable Quantity Offer discounts (
PERCENTAGEorFIXED_AMOUNT) are applied to matching product lines first. - Cancel-Intent Downsell Discount (If Claimed): If the buyer triggered and accepted an active Cancel-Intent Downsell modal before submitting, the validated downsell discount is applied to the merchandise subtotal.
- Visibility & Shipping Subtotal Eligibility: The resulting discounted merchandise subtotal (
merchandiseSubtotalMinor) is checked against your Settings → Visibility min/max order value bounds and Shipping Rates subtotal conditions. - Additional COD Fee & Shipping Rate Addition: The selected COD shipping rate price and any enabled Additional COD Fee (
FIXEDorPERCENTAGE) are added to produce the authoritative total payable on delivery. - Post-Purchase Order Edit (After Order Creation): If a standard COD order is created and a Post-Purchase Upsell is accepted on the Thank You modal, the server edits the existing Shopify order via
orderEditBegin/orderEditCommit.

Section titled “Troubleshooting Steps”- Shipping rate eligibility changed after selecting a Quantity Offer: Because shipping and visibility subtotal bounds evaluate the discounted merchandise subtotal, a discount that brings the subtotal below a free-shipping threshold will accurately switch the order to the matching paid shipping tier.
